HEATED PARADISE

The sun has been out more since we have been back at school and we are so lucky to have a school pool to enjoy.
It is amazing in length, and it is also heated, so some days it's like taking a bath.
Regardless, we enjoy the opportunity to cool off, yes even at 10.30 in the morning.

Here are some photos of us learning to streamline glide on our fronts and backs and a video to show how far we have come in just a few short weeks.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Well the year has started and woah am I the luckiest Gru or what!
At the end of last year I asked my class to write letters to my new Minions for 2017, just to prepare them in advance.
Here they are displayed on our classroom wall for my new group of Minions.

This year, I have been gifted an amazing bunch of spirited, cultured young Minions.

To begin our learning journey together we created our classroom tree... Can you see us hiding in there??

A MESSAGE FROM Mrs M!

Well, the end has come and gone and now my Minions will be off getting themselves ready for Christmas in New Zealand and beyond.
As this is my last time with my Minions I just want to wish them love and light in the years to come. I will be watching your progress from afar, so continue to make me super duper PROUD!
You have been involved in so much learning this year, initially facilitated by me and then taken over by you.
Each and every one of you have added so much value to me as a professional and you are the reasons why I wake up in the morning.

Big loves my Minionsđź’—

VIDEO CALLING COLORADO

On the last day of term 4, Mrs M received a call from her friend in the U.S.A whose class was researching other cultures and their dances.
She wanted to know the meaning behind the haka and so being the obliging kind we told her that we could perform a haka for her 2nd Grade class.

What an amazing experience this was and WOW with what can be done with modern technology today.
Here are photos of us chatting to the students in Mrs Ceretto's class in Colorado, U.S.A.

CLASSROOM ECONOMY

At the end of every year, instead of a shared lunch Room 9 has a 'classroom economy AUCTION'
This means that we can buy and sell items that have been brought in by our classmates. This includes food, books, and items we have made.
It is a great way to generate more money for our final end of year bank balances for our classroom economy programme.

Here are photos of us participating in our classroom auction, from set up to auctioning of items to SOLD OUT signage.

A great way to finish the year.

As a class, we had $227, 000 in our classroom bank. An amazing effort of earning and saving done by the learners in Room 9.
Our classroom economy programme was a huge hit and an amazing financial success.
The challenge will be can Mrs M's Minions of 2017, beat this amazing feat of saving and earnings?
Only time will tell.

TABLOIDS

What a great afternoon we had as a whole school at our annual Tabloids events.
We got to work on our key competencies as we played, cheered and pulled our way to success.
Here we are having fun, fun, fun in the sun.
