HEATED PARADISE

The sun has been out more since we have been back at school and we are so lucky to have a school pool to enjoy.
It is amazing in length, and it is also heated, so some days it's like taking a bath.
Regardless, we enjoy the opportunity to cool off, yes even at 10.30 in the morning.

Here are some photos of us learning to streamline glide on our fronts and backs and a video to show how far we have come in just a few short weeks.

CRICKET SESSION

In the first week back of Term 4, we were lucky enough to have the guys from Hamilton Cricket Association come in to teach us some summer sporting skills.
Our class worked with Jamie, an up and coming Hamilton cricketer.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best, but we stayed outside because we were having so much fun.
Here we are being taught some basic cricketing skills.

CROSS COUNTRY

This term has seen us working hard towards the cross country for 2016.
We have been building stamina through completing our daily beep test where we ran 20 metres on every beep. It was easy to start with but got harder the more we progressed.

Here are some of our spreadsheets that we used to record our results.

Here we are running the course and using our stamina.

Some great results had by our runners after our third attempt at the day.
Good luck to our runners who will represent us at Lower Waipa Inter Schools.

NETBALL TASTER with TASH

Last week we had Tash come and visit us from Hamilton City Netball.
She came and taught us some skills that we can apply when we are playing netball and basketball.
We found that there are some significant differences when it comes to netball and basketball, but the majority of the ball skills are adaptable between both sports.

We are talented basketball players, so we can now also be talented netball players.

Thanks Tash for coming to visit us.
See you again next term.
