Week 3 has come and gone and this saw a multitude of busyness happening in Room 9 and around Koromatua School.
The Scholastic Book Fair was on site and the students had the opportunity to create a wish list of their favourite book titles, to take home to their parents for hopeful purchasing.
With Book Week it was obvious that there would be evidence of reading, reading, reading around the school.
Every day teachers got to share books with a different group of learners from Yrs 0-8.
The children also got opportunities to read to a class of younger learners also.
This was a great way to promote the Tuakana/Teina approach in our school.
Here we are reading to and with children in Room 5.
Midweek also saw one of our special annual events occuring.
'Grandparents Day'.
A chance for our children to give thanks to the older members of our schooling community, who play a large part in the lives of the many children in our school.
Here are some images of the children with their elders.
Our grandparents came from near and far (Tauranga, Gold Coast and even Canada) to support their grandchildren on this day.
Grandparents participated in a range of classroom activities and got treated to a show upon conclusion.
A HUGE thank you to the grandparents who came and made this special day 'spectacular' for your grandchildren.
