SPAGHETTI & MARSHMALLOW CHALLENGE

As part of our programme this term we had a day solely dedicated to 'Science & Technology'.

Room 9 completed a variety of science and technology experiments on this day.

Here is our third challenge of the day.

We were set the challenge to create the tallest tower out of spaghetti and marshmallows.
The extra component was to build it high and have it hold a chocolate Easter egg.

Here we are completing our challenge...

We had two winning groups on the day whose tower managed to hold a chocolate egg.

Congrats to all groups who met their challenges of the day and in the end working together was the winner of the day.

INCREDIBLE HOOP GLIDER

As part of our programme this term we had a day solely dedicated to 'Science & Technology'.

Room 9 completed a variety of science and technology experiments on this day.

Here is our second challenge of the day.

We made some 'Incredible Hoop Gliders'.

Follow the link Incredible Hoop Glider to make some of your own gliders.
See what adjustments you can make to enable your glider to fly the furtherest amongst your friends like we did.

BODY SCRUBS from the kitchen

As part of our programme this term we had a day solely dedicated to 'Science & Technology'.

Room 9 completed a variety of science and technology experiments on this day.

Here is our first challenge of the day.

Mrs M gave us a chance to make some body scrubs for our family members, using simple materials that can be found in most NZ kitchens.

We wish to acknowledge

Wendyl Nissen for providing us with the link to create two delicious smelling body scrubs that are not for eating.

Here we are making our body scrubs in the flavour of 'chocolate' and 'oranges and lemons'.

Then we decided to add a technology component to this task.
The students designed labels for both scrubs.
We chose an overall winner for both scrubs.
Which is your favourite?
