TE WIKI O TE REO MAORI (Maori Language Week)

Every year in Aotearoa, our indigenious language is fostered in our NZ classrooms and this year was no exception.

In our school we held a day solely dedicated to Te Ao Maori (Maori World).
The children always look forward to this day.

This year they got to experience:

Waiata and waiata-a-ringa
Soap carving
Harakeke weaving
Cooking-fried bread and kumara chips
Poi making
Nga Toi (Visual Arts)

Here is a selection of photos from the day
