SARAH JOHNSON

Last week, we were lucky enough to have NZ author Sarah Johnson come and visit us.

She is the author of 'Wooden Arms' and her book 'The Bold Ship Phenomenal' was a finalist in the NZ Children's Book Awards.

What an inspiring author.

Follow the link to check out her blog Sarah Johnson.
Sarah came and read to us and shared some of her own jetsam and flotsam items.
As we are currently reading 'The Bold Ship Phenomenal', you can appreciate our excitement when Sarah pulled out her very own ship in a bottle. We were definitely awe struck.

Thank you Sarah for visiting us and telling us how hard it is to be a published author in NZ, while inspiring us to follow our dreams regardless of the obstacles.

  1. Thank you so much for having me Room 9. I was thrilled to see all the gorgeous wooden hall models you had made. For me, this is one of the nicest parts of being a writer: meeting children who like to read, and seeing how my stories take on a life of their own once they've left my pen (or laptop).
